A Higher Vision CIC has invested in, cared for, and preserved the exceptional historic premises since 2020, with the aim of reviving the Old Grammar School as an Art & Music Community Hub.
This year, on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of July 2023, Plympton Village will be at the heart of celebrations commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Sir Joshua Reynolds, honouring its rich artistic heritage through creative events.
As part of this initiative, we seek to elevate the site's historical and cultural significance, ensuring its recognition on both national and international levels. Protected by Historic England, this landmark deserves to be celebrated and maintained as the “cradle of English Art.”
Our mission is to bring to fruition the vision we established in 2019, pre-pandemic, by restoring this historic building and positioning it as a vibrant centre for Art & Music. We are committed to achieving this in collaboration with local charities and organisations in Plympton and beyond.
